IOU’S TASTER SESSION ‘MAKING IT’ IS BACK!

Kicking off over the festive season, join IOU for an evening of creativity to make alternative decorations by repurposing plastic bottles.

WHAT YOU’LL MAKE:

Created by melting plastic and finished with battery operated lights, the unique sculptural baubles can be used indoors or outside. Come along and learn about the circular economy and add your own creativity and personality to these alternative festival baubles.

LED BY:

IOU Producer and artist Rachel Rea, learn techniques in crafting plastic bottles into bespoke shapes using heat manipulation.

Rachel Rea is also a practicing artist working with Immortal Bloom to make  light infused craft works that reuse and repurpose materials, particularly plastics, at the end of their life in ways that ensure another use.

In this way, we promote Circularity; the principle that there is no waste, through nurturing creative ways to using pre-existing material and technologies by sharing knowledge.

Mulled wine and festive snacks will be served during the event, come on your own or with a group of friends – everyone is welcome.

A Christmas tree is lit with a lit decoration that appears blurry and gold in colour.
A series of bottles sit on a wooden table, they are shaped into different forms.
A green bottle is lit up with a background of dark trees and orange lights.
Some lit up bottles hang from a tree.
