LVL/UP is a 2 day in person training programme in all the important aspects of producing
and project management in the arts.

By taking part you will develop the skills, strategies and
tools to become a brilliant producer. You will also make valuable connections with other
producers from Calderdale, West Yorkshire and across the UK.

The training is led by Francesca Moody, producer of Fleabag by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and
Aysha Powell, Head of Finance and Operations at Trigger who between them have over two
decades of experience creating amazing, award-winning work.
Calderdale Council with the CalderdaleCreates partnership want to support more people to
develop and sustain a career as a producer in our region. We are working together with
LVL/UP to bring you this bespoke programme, and we are able to offer this training to
aspiring producers from Calderdale for free.

We are offering 15 bursary places to complete
the course for free in September 2022.

Wednesday 28th September, 10am – 5pm

• Session 3: Finding and Home/Venue and Fundraising with Francesca
• Session 4: Managing Time with Aysha

Thursday 29th September, 10am – 5pm
• Session 5: Building your Team and Building your Audience with Francesca
• Session 6: Managing People with Aysha
• Session 7: Planning, Production and Future Life with Francesca
• Session 8: Managing Yourself with Aysha

Is this for me?

This training is for people who live or work in Calderdale, are passionate about bringing
creativity to life and want a career as an arts producer.
We think it will best suit people who have some experience of being involved in putting on
events and making things happen, which could be through a range of things like:
Running community events.
Delivering your own creative projects.
Working as an Assistant Producer or in a similar type of role.
Volunteering or getting involved to organise creative activities.
It may also be of interest to people currently producing creative events to brush-up their
skills and knowledge.

What’s included in the training?

Through this training programme you will gain:
Insight and knowledge from brilliant producers based on their real-life experiences.

Skills that effective producers use every day including working with artists and creatives,
fundraising, marketing and running creative projects.
Access to resources and templates to help with your projects, including, an online network
of producers and project managers from across the UK who share information and support
each other.
Strategies to become a great producer and project manager.
A certificate and social media badge to show what you have learnt.

Meet the team

Francesca Moody is an award-winning Producer with over a decade of experience working
across the subsidised and commercial sectors. In 2018 she launched Francesca Moody
Productions, producing across London, the Edinburgh Festival and New York, as well as a
live-streamed arts festival called the SHEDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL.
She is perhaps best known as the original producer of the multi-award winning FLEABAG by
Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Aysha Powell has been working for over 12 years in high energy arts management roles. She
was previously Head of Finance and Operations at Punchdrunk Enrichment, providing critical
key strategic planning and financial capacity to the senior leadership team and board,
General Manager at Paines Plough and Finance Manager at the Lyric Hammersmith. Aysha is

passionate about demystifying the processes involved in making great art and co-
runs LVL/UP arts training.
