Informed by Alicja’s experiences in Poland and the UK, “Interwoven (Trzepak)” explores Calderdale’s textile heritage and the traditional Polish trzepak, a tool for cleaning carpets with a beater (trzepaczka).
Originally a communal space for games and gatherings, these domestic objects are repurposed as a modern meeting point, linking Dean Clough with a Warsaw courtyard.
Visitors were invited to draw on floor boxes with provided chalk, contributing to our interactive ‘courtyard’ installation.
