The Wheel at Calderdale Year of Culture 2024

Discover The Wheel, a giant mobile sculpture and gallery by IOU, as it makes its debut in Calderdale on Saturday, 13 April 2024, during @culturedale Opening Celebration in Halifax town centre and @thepiecehall.

Follow the gleaming remote-controlled hub-less wheel as it arrives in Halifax and watch the miniature explorer on its epic journey around the globe, from pole to pole.

Participate in live art sessions and create your own stories and drawings inspired by the explorer inside. Share your artwork with us, and we’ll upload it on the day to our online mobile gallery.

A day of exciting activities and performances celebrating Calderdale rich history, amazing landscapes, incredible people, unforgettable characters, creativity, entrepreneurship, and talent.

At the Piece Hall, Dean Clough, and other locations around Halifax from 10am -8pm
