Accessibility

Our aim is to welcome all visitors, ensuring their experience with us is accessible to their individual requirements.

Welcome

Our aim is that every person is able to enjoy and participate fully in the work that we do at our studio in Dean Clough Mills. We hope the information provided here is useful , but we recognise many access needs are more specific, so please do contact us for more information, we are really happy to help you.

Our studio is based in Victoria Mill which has step free access from carpark to studio via Gate 8.

Access from other gates on the site requires steps to navigate before reaching our main studio door.

When you arrive at our studio via Gate 8, you will find accessible pay and display parking with a door that leads to the ‘Walkway Gallery’. This is a large airy stone walkway which is flat and suitable for a mobility scooter, wheelchair, or for those using a walking aid. As you enter through our Studio doors, the accessible toilets are straight ahead. You will also see the lift which takes down one level to our studio floor. The lift opens out directly into the main studio and exhibition space.

For those who can access steps, and choose to approach our Studio from Gate 9 next to the Travelodge, you will find 2 steps after the glass door entrance, then a 10 metre from walk door to a flight of 12 steps which will take you up to our walkway gallery, and studio door.

Most of our productions and events will have lighting that has been chosen with the event in mind, if you need more information regarding lighting and sound during your visit, for those who have sensory sensitivities, please get in touch, as this will vary depending when you visit us.

Please contact us at hello@ioutheatre.org if you have any access-related questions, we are always happy to help and make adjustments to suit our visitors’ needs.

Large print information is available on request.
